I knew Logan was the one from the moment I met him. People always say your partner should be your best friend and it's true. He is my best friend in the whole world, my other half. Once we started talking to each other, we could never stop. It turned into 4-6 hour phone calls every night until one of us fell asleep. We were the first thing on each other's minds in the morning and the last thing at night.
On our first date, Logan asked me to be his girlfriend and I did not hesitate to say yes. It only escalated from there. We quickly learned how similar our personalities are and how we would say the same things at the same time- we always joke that we are the same person.
Being in the U.S. Air Force, Logan is stationed in California but is from Kentucky. For the holidays, we went back to spend time with his family. On December 30th, his family and I went to Nashville for an ice sculpture show of The Grinch (one of my favorite movies!). Logan and I went on a horse carriage ride and then walked around to see the beautiful twinkling Christmas lights on the trees. As I was looking up at the lights, he was getting down on one knee. I was in complete shock and looked over to his family to see if this was serious. Again, I did not hesitate to say yes and proceeded to cry out every ounce of water I drank that day.
It was the most perfect night. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him and the lovely community of family and friends that surround him.
I did not hesitate to say yes.
